The 2019 Passport Project, entitled ‘Farm Adventure Weekend Series’ will take place over three weekends through 2019. The first event weekend will take place in June, the second in August and the final in October. During each weekend fifteen farms will be chosen as participant locations. Each event weekend will spotlight a different fifteen farms affecting 45 farms throughout the event series. Participating farms will be dispersed equally across the county, offer a varying array of farm products and must hold membership among one of the project partner organizations to be eligible.
The event weekends will solicit consumers to patron no less than five passport farms during the event weekend where they will receive stamps in their provided ‘passport book’. A completed weekend event passport page will be mailed to CMG offices and receive a CMG swag item and be entered to win the grand prize of a free CSA share from a CMG farm for the 2020 growing season. The drawing will take place after the final event weekend is held in October. To promote the event local newspaper advertisements, email newsletters and social media will be utilized.
Interested farms should complete a signup form by April 5th. Participants will be notified if they have been selected as a passport destination by May 1st. Printing and distribution of the passport books will take place through the month of May and distributed at farm stands, farmers markets, tourism bureaus and consumer gathering points. One passbook will be created containing passport sheets for each of the three weekends and contact information for the participating farms and project partners.
Central Mass Grown is thrilled to sponsor and coordinate this event in collaboration with valued community partners. It is the purpose of this event to create consumer relationships with farms they may not be familiar with and to drive revenue for those participating farms.
